About Savona
Savona is a lake community located on teh southen shores of Kamloops Lake.
Savona is a small community 30 minutes east of Kamloops and 10 minutes east of Tobiano. This community mainly has single family homes. There are some nice lakefront properties on Kamloops Lake. There are a number of modular homes on their own lots on Savona. These homes are a bit more inexpensive for buyers.
There is not any significant commercial activity in Savona. There is a gas station with small convenience store and attached cafe.
There are a lot of recreational opportunities in the area. There are a lot of parks for hiking, crown land and Kamloops Lake to enjoy. Tobiano has a marina as well as restaurant and golf course, which is easy to access from Savona.
Walachin is an area further east of Savon but is considered to be in the Savona sub area. Walachin is an addition 15 to 20 minutes past Savona. This area features small acreages to larger sections. A lot of owners in Walachin have hobby farms or just enjoy the privacy and space. The landscape in this area is fairly open and arid. It isn't uncommon to encounter a tumbleweed traveling down the road. Thompson River Estates is part of Walachin. There are a number of small acreages on the Thompson River and they often feature their own beach space and fishing holes.
