About Sahali

Sahali is one of Kamloops neighborhoods that spans a good portion of the south slope of the river valley.

Sahali is one of the most centrally located neighborhoods in Kamloops. It is home to a lot of the shopping and services in Kamloops (outside of South Kamloops Downtown). Sahali is divided between Upper and Lower Sahali by Highway #1 which runs through Kamloops. Lower Sahali shares a border with South Kamloops West End and downtown Kamloops. This neighborhood consists mainly of single family homes but there are a few half duplexes and townhouse developments throughout Lower Sahali. Lower Sahali is also very close to Thompson Rivers University (TRU) with condos across the street from the University on McGill Road. A lot of shopping is steps from homes in Lower Sahali such as Superstore, Save-on-foods, Winners HomeSense and much more.

Upper Sahali is larger in land space than Lower Sahali. This region of Sahali features a large mix of properties. There are some executive home neighborhoods with larger homes, some newer or newly built. There are a lot of different strata complexes of all sizes and ages, there are condos and apartments, half duplex homes and single family homes. There are a lot of nice sub-areas within Upper Sahali, because it is on the hillside with green belts throughout and bordered by Peterson Creek Park there are a lot of cul-de-sacs that are very private. Upper Sahali is home to a popular water park and park space called Albert McGowan Park. In the summer months you will find kids cooling off in the spray park and in the winter months it is a popular place to ride a toboggan.

Upper Sahali is not as walkable to shopping unless the home is in the lower portion of Upper Sahali where it would be a short walk to the shopping services. Both Upper and Lower Sahali have regular BC Transit Bus service throughout.

Sahali overall is bordered by Peterson Creek Park which runs from South Kamloops Downtown area up to Knutsford. Many residents of the area have easy trail access to the park from many different points of access.

There are a four elementary schools in Sahali with South Sahali Elementary offering a French Immersion program. Secondary students in the area attend Sahali Secondary School unless they are in the French Immersion stream which attends South Kamloops Secondary in Downtown Kamloops.

Then neighborhood of Sahali is bordered by Aberdeen to the west and South Kamloops, Downtown region to the north. Sahali sits south of the City Centre and features a number of smaller neighborhoods within Sahali region. Lower and Upper Sahali are divided by the Trans Canada Highway. Lower Sahali consists of older neighborhoods which are located fairly close to Thompson Rivers University, downtown Kamloops and a number of larger shopping centers. Upper Sahali is a mix of many types of residential properties but does not have as much retail as Lower Sahali. Throughout all areas of Sahali there are many types of homes, condos, townhouses, single family homes and estate properties.

Since Sahali is on the southern slope of the Thompson Valley, many properties benefit from the gorgeous city, river and valley views. Sahali is one of the most centrally located neighborhoods where most city amenities are minutes from each home. This area also has all levels of schooling from elementary through to post secondary. Sahali is the home to one of Kamloops' French Immersion Elementary schools. This area is serviced by frequent and regular public transportation making the accessibility in this area very easy. There are a number of parks throughout Sahali including a water park at the popular Albert McGowan Park and Peterson Creek Park which runs through a large portion of Sahali. It features a wide range of hiking trails that stretch from Downtown Kamloops through to upper Sahali.
