About Red Lake & The Tranquille Valley

The Tranquille Valley and Red Lake are located north west of Kamloops.

This region is very rural and not as accessible as other areas of Kamloops. A good portion of the road is dirt and gravel. It is maintained but there are times it is not great for travel. This is a stunning region of the Kamloops and area and a number of people call it home. Most properties are at least 25 kilometers along the Tranquille Criss Creek Road. The area is home to acreage properties, there are not any small lots or multi-family developments in the area. This region is amazing for those who love the outdoors with endless options for hiking, snow sports, fishing, hunting and boating.

Red Lake is approximately 40 kilometers from the Tranquille Criss Creek Road junction. Red Lake is a quiet fishing lake and gas powered boats are not permitted. This is a popular lake for those who want to fish or have some quiet time. There are a number of waterfront properties on Red Lake. The lot sizes are smaller in this area to accommodate the lakefront access. Red Lake is approximately 270 acres in size and is more of a narrow lake. This lake is more of a reedy lake with bull rushes and reeds at it’s shoreline. Many owners have long docks to get out past the reeds.

This region does not have any transportation services or local shopping. Residents have to travel in to Kamloops to get their basic goods. Children in the Tranquille Valley do have school bus services.
