About Batchelor Heights

Batchelor Heights sits north of the downtown core on a small hillside overlooking the North Thompson River and valley.

Batchelor Heights is a smaller neighborhood of Kamloops when comparing it to some of the larger areas such as Brocklehurst, Westsyde or Aberdeen. It is located north of the city and sits above the Westmount area. Batchelor has a mix of housing with older single family homes, townhomes and new development. The lower Batchelor area consists of mostly the older homes mostly built in the 1970s through to the 1990’s. The upper bench of Batchelor has seen a lot of new development (mostly to the north side of the upper bench). There are nice townhouse developments and bare land strata developments in the upper Batchelor area.

Are you looking for a pool? Lower Batchelor has a number of homes that have in ground pools. There are limitations on upper Batchelor where a number of properties are not permitted to have even above ground pools on their properties.

This neighborhood is serviced by Westmount Elementary school which is a short drive from most homes in Batchelor. Secondary students have the choice of Westsyde High School which is a full grade 8-12 school or Brock Middle School which then feeds to North Kamloops High. Shopping is a short drive to the North Shore shopping district where there are grocery stores, professional services, restaurants and hardware stores. There is regular service by BC Transit. Batchelor is located alongside the Lac Du Bois grasslands park which has acres of trails and nature to enjoy.
